DIY Cedarwood Essential Oil
To make cedarwood oil, put cedar leaves in a pot, with a vegetable steamer on top of leaves and enough water to cover leaves. Put a small cup inside steamer and put pot lid on upside-down. Boil water on high. Water will condense and evaporate. Put 4-6 ice cubes in the upside down pot lid. Turn stove off once ice melts. Using pot holders, remove lid, dump ice water and remove glass cup. Your oil is in the cup/ Separate water from the oil using a separating funnel. Pour oil into a (ideally dark) glass bottle.
Alternatively, you can put cedar leaves in a bottle or jar and fill with high grade alcohol, almond oil or coconut oil, seal and store for one week. Strain the plant matter out before using.
